21st Ironman Cairns. 🏁

Stepping 90 places up to 64th in the overall #IronmanProSeries.
Not happy with the race, but still a finish.

The swim went quite okay, and I was once again directly behind the first big group.🏊🏽‍♂️

The bike went really well until the last 30-ish km. It looks like I ran out of carbs, or my body didn't absorb what I needed. So I lost around 10 minutes to the guys on the last bit, as the headwind back into Cairns to T2 was really strong.🚴🏽‍♂️
In T2, I immediately got down two gels. My body responded well, so I started the run as I was aiming for. This lasted until 30-ish kilometers, where the same thing happened.🏃🏽‍♂️

The last 3 kilometers were then just a fight to finish the race.

Last long run today. 2:30 h and around 32 km, a bit slower than normal as the body is still adapting to the heat/humidity and fighting jet lag.
But enjoying every day in paradise.

Arrived in Cairns 🤩
Can't say it often enough. It really is like paradise 🌄🌴🌊

Managed an early morning 3k swim. Followed by a 90-minute easy bike ride up the hill through a national park 🤩 And finished with a 30-minute easy brick run through the botanical gardens 😊

Ending the day with a sunset view from the pool 🌅

I was able to test the new HoloSwim Pro 2. 🏊🏽‍♂️

Whether in open water or the pool, I get all my key swim data displayed in real-time—right in front of my eyes.

Thanks to Garmin connectivity, I can see time, pace, distance, and heart rate while swimming in open water—no need to check my watch.
This is really cool. 😎

In the pool, they are a huge help during long intervals: Pace is shown live in the lens, helping to stay consistent without breaking rhythm. Especially for non-advanced swimmers who are having problems holding a steady pace.

Back home and enjoyed two easy days, including travel and making travel plans for @ironman.cairns 🇦🇺💪🏼

Back to normal training since yesterday—a two-hour bike ride and swim.

Today, also back to running with a 90-minute progressive run and some 4.8k swimming! 💪🏼🏊🏽‍♂️🚴🏽‍♂️🏃🏽‍♂️
